I'm using a cheap USB2 audio "7.1 channel" adapter, works great other than the designer decided to flash a red LED which lights up the whole case. Gives me an audio input as well should I need it.

How is the sound quality?

I purchased the cheap eBay offerings some time ago - disappointing performance, noisy, poor output impedance. Only usable with very high input impedance loads. Forget most headphones. The mic input was equally bad.
Recently acquired a Logitech version of the same, quite a bit more expensive but works brilliantly well on my P5 and P4, the mic input works well too. Very usable even compared with my Steinberg and Berringer USB audio interfaces.
