All I've done since the project last built successfully is to re-clone PicoBB from GitHub (but MemoText-Bill assures me that no change he's made could be responsible), update the Pico SDK to the latest version and dist-upgrade Raspbian Buster. I've never 'downgraded' anything.So what I would guess is you have effectively downgraded, gone from an OS or set-up which used a more modern 'arm-none-eabi-gcc' which supports '-fcallgraph-info' and allowed the build, to a much older version which doesn't.
No, it worked before because the earlier build didn't include that command-line option. Something has added it, but if as you say it's not a change to the Pico SDK I don't know what it is.Using stock Buster ''-fcallgraph-info' has never worked so you must have been using something more modern.
