I did not supply sufficient context for my SPI comment. As ya know the Pi5 does not at present have Pigpio support so pi4j hardware access will use i2c, digital in/out via linuxfs-i2c and GpioD. I used the existing (unused) linuxfs-pwm to get pwm working on the Pi5, thus hitting this exception. Pi4j on Pi5 also presently lacks SPI support. I was investigating what is a practicable hardware access to use for a pi4j SPI implementation.
