The official install scripts for Linux Air Combat on Raspberry Pi have recently been simplified and updated so that they now reference the latest versions of LAC. Now there are just three distinct scripts. All are very similar and all compile the same source code. They differ only because different versions of Raspberry Pi's hardware and corresponding popular operating systems demand different prerequisite linkage libraries. The three scripts are:
1 of 3: "Script to auto download, compile, install LAC 9.62 on Pi5 64bit". Here's the link:
https://sourceforge.net/p/linuxaircomba ... fc545db8ef
2 of 3: "Script to auto download, compile, install LAC 9.62 on Pi4b or 400 64Bit" Here's that link:
https://sourceforge.net/p/linuxaircomba ... 623ff15e6c
3 of 3: "Script to auto download, compile, install LAC 9.62 on Pi4b or 400 32Bit Raspbian" The link for that is:
https://sourceforge.net/p/linuxaircomba ... 84e62807a9
As you might surmise from the names of those scripts, each will automatically download, compile, and install the current production version of Linux Air Combat along with all prerequisite libraries. Any prior version of LAC is over-written, and the source code is deleted after it is no longer needed. Pre-existing LAC configuration files are retained, so if you've already optimized it for performance on your hardware and/or customized your keyboard, mouse, and joystick controls, you won't need to do so again.
These scripts automate absolutely everything, but they pause to give you time to read what is going on and you'll have opportunities to abort if you see something unexpected. You might need to click "YES" a couple of times if the install process asks your permission to install some prerequisite libraries, but you shouldn't see anything more complicated than that.
All of those scripts can be found in our "LAC on Raspberry Pi" forum, along with other details. You can find that forum here:
