Probably a stupid question but I've been all day looking looking for and not finding an answer.
RPi 5 running Pi OS undated daily. Running X because I don't think Wayland is ready.
On my desktop amd64 machine, the screen blanker cuts power to the screen, so for instance if the room is dark there is no light at all visible from the screen. But the blanker does not kick in if, say, I'm watching a movie.
The screen blanker in Pi OS also cuts the signal to the screen such that it powers down. Good so far. But unless there is keyboard or mouse input, it shuts the screen down even if there is activity onscreen. It is this last part I'd like to prevent.
Is there a setting someplace that remedies this? If not, is there an app that does this? It would be okay if it went dark if one paused playback for 10 minutes, but not during actual motion playback.
