Not forced to do what, keep my OS secure? first I've heard of that and yes my response is fully quite sarcastic.i'm just going to say
updates are optional, your not forced to do it like that other os.
you can look what has updates and select just the 1's you want, you don't have to do everything.
in fact once you get your perfect setup, you can use the overlay to make your system read only, forget updates, something go's wrong, just reboot.
