You don't really need to do anything special with the camera. Try it with a working remote control. Just point the remote at the camera and press a button. You should see purple flickering in the led.I tried to frame with the camera but I don't see anything, but if I connect an oscilloscope I can see the train of pulses it generates when I send the command. I did another test by connecting a simple green LED and when I send the continue command it flashes. Also tried with other IR LEDs, always the same thing. Could it depend on the type of LED? From the parameters set on the file downloaded from the database or from a wrong configuration on the rasperry? I can not understand
If you are not seeing this with the led transmitter you built then it's not working. It could be something as simple as the led is connected backwards.
