Q: When you mention a wired connection - do you mean a cable from your Windows laptop to RPI directly?
A: No, this is not my intended setup. I have wired & wireless router. The Windows laptop is connected to my router via wireless interface. The RPI5 is connected to my router via wired interface. The RPI5 is NOT directly connected to my Windows Laptop.
Another point:
In the past, on my RPi4 (which I no longer have), I would see a wired and wireless IP address as per the example, below:
192.168.1.37 (Here, 37 is just a number that the router assigned for the wired IP address)
192.168.1.125 (Here, 125 is just a number that the router assigned for the wireless IP address).
But today, I see that my wired address is 10.0.0.164. I don't expect this and the address surprises me.
This makes me think that I have not properly configured my router. Not sure. Not an expert.
