Thank you for your response, kerry_s. I'm trying to understand what you mean, but I am not experiencing this behavior on my system. I'm using Raspberry Pi Lite with Debian GNOME 43.9, and I've checked the settings of Nautilus and my text editor, yet I do not see it automatically prompting for a password when accessing files or folders outside my /home directory. Have I possibly overlooked a setting? Could you share how you have this configured or which version you are using where this happens automatically? This would greatly help me improve my setup.
