Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Heart Broken: My Love Affair With MotionEYE is Over

Me again ...

The only other solution I've considered is have my own local email server that can be setup to forward to my paided-for provider using Oath2. However, from what I've heard setting up and configuring an email server can get a bit hard.
Running your own email server and keeping it secure is a pain, even the might of Google can't get it right. You need a static IP for a start.
Agreed but what if its all behind my router's firewall and on my home network and only email alerts conforming to Oauth2 can escape? I could perhaps use one of my early 26 Pin GPIO Pi's. Shouldn't need anything faster.
But isn't that the same problem you have now, configuring for OAUTH2?

EDIT:

I pretty sure everything you need can be done by opening a gmx email account and sending to gmail through that, no oauth2 required. gmx works with thunderbird so it should work with smtp from Motioneyes.
