Yes, lirc was changed a while ago, but since those changes were made - google would not find any info on how to use it. All lirc python code examples posted were for old api and no wonder folks got issues with it. Current lirc module implementation is very simple to use and works great for receiving and sending IR signals. Of course one need to do all the lirc setup work for your remote - this part did not change and it is not trivial for many. lira python moduledochttps://lirc.readthedocs.io/en/latest/a ... ation.html.
