Tutorial for using library for Raspberry Pi Pico and Ultrasonic Sensor

If you power the sensor with 5 volts, won't the level of the returned ECHO signal also be 5 volts?

Is it electrically safe/advisable to apply a 5 volt input to a Pico GPIO pin?
