General discussion • Raspberry pi 3A running slower then a snail?

Hello, I have a raspberry pi 3A If I try to open something like vlc player or something in command it slows down a lot to where I can not do anything at all. I can not figure out what to do to fix this. Only thing I can think of it is a power supply issue maybe not enough current on it but it works fine if I'm not doing anything on it at all.

Can someone please help me to figure this out?

Edit: The power supply I'm using is a 5v 2a micro usb power supply.
