Troubleshooting • Re: Migrate SD to SSD

usb-boot should do the job for you in one simple operation.
Sounds like I have to connect screen and keyboard in order to use it. Right?

It'll work via SSH.
Again, sorry for the dumb questions.
I read the post you referred me to, and also tried to find more information on the web, but still, I don't feel like I get the entire picture about this tool.
So, I have Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 (as appears in raspi-config). Complete version and boot loader versions are here:

Code:

$ cat /etc/debian_version10.13$ cat /etc/os-releasePRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)"NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"VERSION_ID="10"VERSION="10 (buster)"VERSION_CODENAME=busterID=raspbianID_LIKE=debianHOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/"SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums"BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs" $ vcgencmd bootloader_version2023/01/11 17:40:52version 8ba17717fbcedd4c3b6d4bce7e50c7af4155cba9 (release)timestamp 1673458852update-time 1734171413capabilities 0x0000007f
I currently have an SD card, running for several years, which I put many efforts in building, and I really don't want to destroy it or to start from scratch. Reminder - I do not have a way to see what's on the screen, as, for some unknow reason, it simply doesn't work.

What exactly does this tool do? Does it copy the SD to the USB disk? Does it simply change the boot configuration?
What should I do in order to use it? Should I have another SD card? What happens after that? Will I need to leave this "dummy card, just as a bridge to my disk" during the boot?
I'm really confused and will really appreciate your help.

Thanks again!
