If I had decided that any Pi 500 I bought would need to have an internal NVMe I wouldn't be buying a Pi 500 without it. Not having NVMe would indeed be "a deal breaker".
People can tell me I'm wrong, I don't need it, I won't notice any benefits, it won't actually be a benefit, it's just a waste of money, that I'd probably be just as happy with a Pi 400, whatever they want to argue - But it's unlikely that would change my mind.
I personally haven't decided that, not yet, but I can understand that some people have and why. Some may change their minds, some won't.
I am leaning towards it being an essential, pointless for me to buy a Pi 500 without internal NVMe, so I am all ears when it comes to hearing arguments as to why I don't need that, don't even need NVMe.
Perhaps there should be a White Paper on the Product Information Portal arguing the pro's and con's of NVMe, examining when it is worth it and when it isn't ?
