What would you use the Zero 2 for (if there was a 1 GB or bigger version)?
You get only USB 2 so an SSD is useless. The microSD card is half the speed. You have to add a USB hub for mouse and keyboard and Ethernet, which runs at one tenth normal speed. Lots of reasons why a zero 2 would not work in many of the ways you can use a Pi 4.
My Zero 2 use is mainly as a local controller for devices with a low data rate via WiFi to a Pi 4. The extra speed of the Zero 2 lets you use programming languages and software that struggle on a Zero W. Supporting only one OS, the 64 bit version, is also a benefit.
From the cost perspective, a Pi 4 1 GB with all those USB ports is not much different in price to a Zero 2 plus a USB hub and is cheaper than a Zero 2 + powered USB hub to provide the extra power you cannot get from a Zero 2 official power supply.![Idea ]()
