Network-manager, avahi, conman and alikes are a cancer, in Void Linux we are fortunately don't have any of these ![:mrgreen:]( "Mr. Green")
Nothing to do with the manager you using either, it should be some low level link parameter you can also set with iw, iwconfig or it's gonna be a module parameter/config option.
With tricking your region on the wireless card it opens up different frequency ranges, not really an issue in my case as that freq is available.
