Have asked this in RetroPie Forum but suspect they will tell me too come here so here I am

os retropie 4.8.4
Was working fine a few days a go.
Ok so basically I booted in too desktop via F4 and startx.. done it many times and no issues. But today boot in was working fine went too make a coffee came back and Taskbar and mouse disappeared.. Nothing I have tried works. even full reboot etc. Cannot even get the CLI to come up either.
Any ideas why this happened and how to fix??
Please note IT WAS WORKING and went to make a coffee and on return the taskbar and mouse had disappeared.
