Somewhere in thread you linked I found the instruction to enable the legacy camera stack via raspi-config on bullseye. I didn't find this option on bookworm.
After enabling it, raspicam-still puts out a proper photo.
Is camera support for bookworm planned or are RPi cameras essentially discontinued beyond bullseye?
