No. Voltage must be larger than 5V. Also possible to have two or more in parallel. There is a 47uF on board, when I remember the schema correct. Should be a magnitude larger than this value.Also, is the capacitor value critical? I don’t have many here.
It is experimental. Best case would be to measure voltage with an oscilloscope. Would be a good opportunity to look for next hackspace, make friends and perhaps someone owns some equipment and finds this an interesting problem.
