Welcome to the forum!
i am getting a pi5 soon and was wondering what i need to be able to use a Meanwell LRS-50-5 to supply power to the Rasberry Pi5.
That should be more than adequate for at least two Pi5. Note you will have to build a proper insulated or earthed metal enclosure for it, there is no built-in cover for the live mains terminals.
what exact model # of components as i am having some issues finding them, such usb-c pd module & cable i am assuming.
Don't try to mess with a USB-PD module. Just set this line in config.txt to tell the Pi that the PSU is capable of 5A.

Code:

usb_max_current_enable=1
Then you will need short, fat wires from the PSU to the Pi, either to a USB-C breakout or to the 5V and 0V pins of the GPIO header (use two of each).
i will be using an external ssd hard drive instead of micro-sd. could i power it through the external hard drive instead of te Meanwell power source.
No, unless the external drive has a power outlet capable of 5V 5A.
