In theory, are the images on the microSD and the USB attached media the same?
Further question, is the USB attached media actually attached when you are successfully booting from microSD and connecting to Bluetooth?
Interference is a prime suspect, if the issue goes away when you remove the USB attached media. Bluetooth certainly works fine, when running from USB attached or PCIe attached storage under normal circumstances. Worked fine for me with a USB attached Kingston SSD and a PCIe attached NVMe SSD. Some USB media is "noisier" in the RF spectrum than others.
