You can refer to Circle or my C version. Here's the sample usage.
I don't know of any forum or wiki. Circle is a good place to start in regards to reference code because it supports a large amount of the Pi hardware peripherals. If you don't like C++ you can check out my RPi System which is a conversion of Circle to C.
